COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR MATTERS <br />11.A. 24-0538 Strategic Plan - Proposed County Mission Statement and Core Values <br />Recommended action: Adopt the proposed Mission Statement and Core Values for Indian River County. <br />Attachments: Staff Report Strategic Plan <br />County Administrator John Titkanich used a PowerPoint presentation to propose the <br />County's Mission statement and Core Values. He said that after talking to the Board <br />of County Commissioners and senior leaders, the County held its first Strategic <br />Planning Workshop on December 8, 2023. County employees were asked about <br />their goals, priorities, mission, and organizational values. On April 30, 2024, <br />employees met at the iG Center for the Strategic Planning Kickoff. He emphasized <br />that the proposed mission statement and core values were not just a product of the <br />team's work, but a result of a collaborative effort, using key phrases and themes as a <br />basis. <br />Mission statement: Dedicated to Indian River County through service excellence. <br />Core Values <br />Integrity: We conduct ourselves in the highest ethical manner in all that we do, with a <br />commitment to respect, accountability, and transparency. <br />Responsiveness: We provide excellent customer service by being accessible, <br />approachable, receptive, helpful, and innovative. <br />Collaboration: We work together cooperatively, united in our purpose to serve the <br />community. <br />Administrator Titkanich underlined the Board's approval of the mission statement and <br />core values as a critical step that not only reinforced the expectations of employees, <br />but also provided a clear guide for the future. Coupled with the adopted <br />organizational goals, the mission statement and core values served as the foundation <br />and guide for the County in developing Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, <br />Indian River County Florida Page 15 <br />
