Provide the mission statement and vision of your organization: <br />Mission Statement: <br />"With God's guidance, the Gifford Youth Achievement Center creates educational, cultural and social opportunities that <br />enhance the lives of the youth and families we serve". <br />Vision: <br />"Where lives are changed and goals attained". <br />[. Provide a bner summary or your organization, ►nc►uo►ng areas or expertise, accompusnments ano population served. <br />The Gifford Youth Achievement Center (GYAC) is a 501 (c)(3) organization that opened in 1998. For 26 years, it has <br />been "Changing Lives, Changing Futures." GYAC enhances the academic achievement of its students by offering <br />homework assistance, one-on-one tutoring, supplemental reading programs, summer internship opportunities, and <br />supplemental academic, social, cultural, and recreational activities. <br />GYAC serves adults and senior citizens by offering health screenings, low -impact aerobics, health and wellness <br />workshops and cultural and recreational activities. <br />Degreed teachers, a Student Support Specialist, volunteers, and recreational support staff are among the experts. <br />Collaborative partners provide specific programmatic expertise in social, cultural, and recreational activities. <br />GYAC's accomplishments include: <br />25th Anniversary - January 2023 <br />2020 - Angelia Perry, the Executive Director, was named the Junior League of Indian River County "Woman of the Year <br />Civic/Non-Profit Professional." <br />2010 - The United Way of Indian River County Agency Excellence Award <br />2005 - Outstanding Florida Minority Education Community Organization Award <br />1999 - Hillary Rodham Clinton Millennium Green Project Award <br />3.
