CURRENT COUNTY AUDITOR CONTRACT ASSIGNMENT <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated 9/25/96: <br />TO: Board of County Commissioners <br />FROM:q�r <br />Jeffrey K. Barton, Clerk of the Circuit Court <br />DATE: September 25, 1996 <br />RE: Current County Auditor Contract <br />As the Board of County Commissioners is aware, the Board entered into an <br />auditing contract with the firm of Berger, Harris, Toombs, Elam & MCAlpin for <br />five years starting October 1, 1995 (for audits starting with fiscal year <br />1995). <br />The Berger -Harris firm has recently undergone some internal reorganization <br />and has split into two different firms. Pursuant to the attached letters <br />from these two firms the Indian River County contract is being assigned to <br />the new firm of Harris, Cotherman & Associates, CPAs, Chartered. <br />Since the auditing firm was selected by an auditor selection process, the <br />Board has the power to accept this assignment or not. <br />Requested Action: Request 'that the Board either approve the referenced <br />assignment or undertake a new auditor selection process. <br />Jeffrey K. Barton, Clerk of the Circuit Court, advised that <br />Mr. Harris and Mr. Cotherman are here to answer any questions the <br />Board may have in regard to the assignment. The group being <br />assigned will be the same group that worked on the audit the <br />previous year. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Macht, the Board unanimously (4-0, <br />Commissioner Bird absent) approved the assignment of <br />contract to the new firm of Harris, Cotherman & <br />Associates, CPAs, Chartered. <br />LETTER OF ASSIGNMENT ON FILE IN OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD <br />boot 99 MU <br />33 <br />OCTOBER 1, 1996 <br />
