Moreover, artesian flow wells tend to have high <br />chloride levels, and in turn lower water quality in the surficial <br />aquifer, which is commonly used for private potable wells. Renewal <br />of the attached agreement will result in the continuation of an <br />important and successful water quality and quantity protection <br />program. <br />The District's obligation of an additional $10,000 to compensate <br />for county staff time attributed to the program is a change from <br />last year's contract, in the County's favor. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends that the Board of County Commissioners approve the <br />attached abandoned flow well plugging cost share agreements with <br />the SJRWMD for FY 1996-97, and authorize the chairman to execute <br />the agreements. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously approved <br />the abandoned flow well plugging cost share <br />agreements with the St. Johns River Water Management <br />District for FY 1996-97, as recommended by staff. <br />AGREEMENTS ARE ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE <br />CLERK TO THE BOARD <br />O.
