Alternative`N'o. 1 <br />Authorize the Public Works Director to permit the construction of <br />shell/marl roadways in existing dedicated County right-of-way if they <br />are located in close proximity to the existing grader routes, proper <br />drainage and roadway is constructed by the developer, and a County <br />right-of-way permit is obtained. Once: the road is constructed and <br />approved. the Public Works Department will inspect it for acceptance. <br />Alternative No. 2 <br />Continue the policy of requiring all new roads constructed by <br />developers in unopened County right-of-way to be paved unless it <br />meets the numerical acceptance criteria for County maintenance. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS AND FUNDING <br />Alternative No. 1 is recommended whereby the Public Works Director is given the <br />authority to accept the construction of marl/shell roads in existing dedicated <br />County right-of-way. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Tippin, the Board unanimously <br />authorized the Public Works Director to permit the <br />construction of shell/marl roadways in existing <br />dedicated County rights-of-way if they are located <br />in close proximity to the existing grader routes, <br />proper drainage and roadway is constructed by the <br />developer, and a County right-of-way permit is <br />obtained, with inspection for acceptance by the <br />Public Works Department once the road is constructed <br />and approved, as recommended by staff. <br />BID #6059 - KDG.
