Is Request for Special Exception <br />Use Approval to Erect a 300' Tower (Vero -4) <br />It is requested that the data herein presented be given formal <br />consideration by the Board of County Commissioners at its regular <br />meeting of October 15, 1996. <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS: <br />Bruce Barkett, Esq., on behalf of Bell South Mobility, Inc., has <br />submitted -an application requesting site plan administrative <br />approval and special exception use approval to construct an <br />unmanned 300' self -supported communications tower and associated <br />equipment building. The subject tower base is to be located <br />approximately 379' east of 82nd Avenue and 220' north of 12th <br />Street. The tower site is a leased area within the boundaries of <br />property owned .by Kids Krusade, Inc. (Life for Youth Ranch) . The <br />lease area for the proposed tower is in the southwest corner of the <br />overall parcel, 450 feet+ from any activity areas associated with <br />the Life for Youth Ranch youth program. Because the proposed tower <br />exceeds 1401..in height, and because the site is located within an <br />A-1 zoning district, special exception use approval must be granted <br />for the construction of the tower. <br />*Planning and Zoning Commission Consideration <br />The special exception use request has been scheduled for <br />consideration by the Planning and Zoning Commission on October 10, <br />1996. Staff's recommendation to the Planning and Zoning Commission <br />is to approve the request with the conditions contained in the <br />recommendation at the end of this report. At the October 15, 1996 <br />Board of County Commissioners meeting, planning staff will report <br />on the Planning and Zoning Commission's action. <br />*Board of County Commissioners Consideration <br />Upon consideration of the recommendation of staff and the Planning <br />and Zoning Commission, the Board is to approve, approve with <br />conditions, or deny the special exception use request. Pursuant to <br />Section 971.05 of the LDRs, the Board of County Commissioners is to <br />consider the appropriateness of the requested use for the subject <br />site and surrounding area.
