Board of County Commissioners Meeting Minutes - Final September 24, 2024 <br />possible, noting that fireworks shows averaged $30,000, and other discussed events <br />had similarly high price tags; he said merchandising sales only went so far. <br />Ms. Wagner admitted that the estimate for fireworks exceeded her entire parade <br />budget, not including the laser light show. <br />Deputy County Administrator Mike Zito suggested having staff return before the <br />Board in November with a more refined budget request. <br />Chairman Adams suggested Ms. Wagner return with an aspirational budget and a <br />midline option for the Board to consider. <br />A motion was made by Vice Chairman Flescher, seconded by Commissioner <br />Moss, to approve staff's recommendation with additional direction for staff to <br />return before the Board with a more refined budget. The motion carried by the <br />following vote: <br />Aye: 4 - Chairman Adams, Vice Chairman Flescher, Commissioner Moss, and <br />Commissioner Loar <br />Excused: 1 - Commissioner Earman <br />11.B. 24-0803 Ratification of Collective Bargaining Agreement Between Indian River County and <br />Teamsters, Local Union No. 769 Effective October 1, 2024 through September 30, <br />2027 <br />Recommended Action: Staff respectfully recommends approval of the Agreement and requests that the Board <br />of County Commissioners authorize its Chairman to sign the full Agreement. <br />Attachments: Staff Report <br />Proposed Agreement <br />[Clerk Note: This Item was heard following Item 8.I.] <br />County Administrator John Titkanich provided details of the Teamsters Collective <br />Bargaining Agreement which would extend from October 21, 2024 through <br />September 3, 2027, and included a wage increase of 5 percent. He went on to list <br />several other negotiated changes which included modifications to time off, overtime, <br />scheduling, incentive pay, and provided a wage reopener. Administrator Titkanich <br />noted there was a continuing discussion on shift differentials. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Earman, seconded by Vice Chairman <br />Flescher, to approve staffs recommendation.
