In the event that unsuitable material is detected as part of these <br />procedures, the Contractor will immediately stop famishing such material and shall be <br />responsible for immediately removing the unsuitable material prior to any further <br />construction. Any unsuitable material shall be removed at the expense of the Contractor in <br />a manner approved by the Engineer. Burial of material which does not meet these <br />specifications within the beach fill is prohibited. The grain size distribution, color and texture <br />fill <br />of the typical fill material provided by the Contractor shall be equivalent to the data and <br />samples provided by the Contractor as part of the bidding process. <br />5. Inspection Notification <br />The Contractor shall notify the Engineer as to the time and date at least two (2) days prior to <br />( <br />t. <br />the event. <br />1 <br />6. Submittals <br />Borrow Source Data and Sample - In addition to other requirements described elsewhere in <br />, <br />these specifications, potential Contractors shall submit the following data as part of the Bid <br />f <br />each site location described.: <br />(a) Mobilization onto the site, <br />(b) Initiation of access road stabilization. <br />(c) .Initiation of fill removal from sand pit, <br />(d) Completion of fill delivery and final grading, <br />(e) Demobilization and final clearing. <br />1 <br />l <br />Failure to comply may constitute a cause for rejection of work completed. <br />7. Pre -Construction Meetine <br />Prior to commencement of construction, the Contractor shall meet on site with the Engineer <br />and FDEP representative to verify the construction access, and pre -construction conditions <br />of the site (photographs will be taken by the Engineer.) A final trucking route will be <br />submitted by the Contractor for review by the Engineer. At this meeting, the Contractor shall <br />provide the Engineer with a schedule for the work. The Contractor shall also meet with the <br />Engineer and the area residents. The Engineer shall establish guidelines for the safety plan. <br />The Contractor will devise and submit a safety plan in writing for review and acceptance to <br />the Engineer prior to beginning construction. The safety plan will contain provisions for at <br />least: l) Fencing to exclude the public from the construction area, 2) Restrictions on vehicle <br />speed, 3) Means of protection from existing vegetation (fencing), and 4) Construction Site <br />No Trespassing signs. The Contractor will be responsible for implementing the safety plan <br />for the safety of the people in and adjacent to the project area during construction. The <br />Engineer, after discussion with Contractor shall approve methods of construction staking at <br />this meeting. The Contractor has received copies of the environmental permit as part of these <br />�- bid documents. The Contractor shall review this document and submit to the Engineer, a <br />letter stating that it has reviewed and shall comply with the permit conditions as they apply <br />to the Contractor's work specified in the contract. <br />8. Layout of Work/Staking <br />From the vertical and horizontal control established by the Engineer, the Contractor shall <br />complete the layout of the work and shall be responsible for all measurements that may be <br />required for the execution of the work. All project sites lie within the FDEP survey system <br />�. with monuments located approximately every 1000 feet of shoreline. <br />TP t <br />
