F-1 <br />e <br />i <br />4' <br />1 PERMITTEE: Indian River County <br />PERMIT NUMBER: IR -601 <br />t PAGE 2 <br />Wabasso Beach: Approximately 400 feet north of R-40 to R-40. <br />Conn Beach: Approximately 400 south of R-77 to R-79. <br />Humiston Park: Approximately 150 feet south of R-83 to 375 feet south of R-83. <br />i <br />Ocean Ridge: Approximately 250 feet south of R-103 to 700 feet south of R-107. <br />Porpoise Point: Approximately 200 feet north of R-105 to 50 feet north of R-107. <br />PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The applicant/permittee is authorized to construct up to <br />approximately 10, 650 linear feet of protective sand dune. Up to approximately 3.4 cubic yards <br />to 8.6 cubic yards of beach compatible sand will be placed per linear foot. <br />SPECIAL PERMIT CONDITIONS: <br />1. No work shall be conducted under this permit until the permittee has received a written <br />notice to proceed from the Department. Prior to the issuance of the notice to proceed, the <br />permittee shall provide written evidence that a public notice of the Department's action has <br />been published for one day in the largest newspaper of general circulation in the county <br />where the proposed project is located. A certification from the newspaper showing <br />compliance shall be provided to the staff. Prior to publishing the required public notice, <br />the permittee shall contact the staff and obtain the specific language that must appear in <br />the advertisement. The public notice must be published within 10 days of the date of <br />issuance of this permit. <br />2. It is the responsibility of Indian River County to secure appropriate consent from all <br />owners whose properties are identified in the project location. <br />3. Prior to commencement of construction activity authorized by this permit, a <br />preconstruction conference shall be held at the site among the contractor, the owner or <br />authorized agent, and a staff representative of the Office of Beaches and Coastal Systems <br />to establish an understanding among the parties as to the items specified in the special and <br />standard conditions of the permit. The proposed locations of the structures shall be staked <br />out for the conference. <br />4. The fill material shall be obtained from a source landward of the control line and shall <br />consist of sand which is similar to that already on the site in both grain size and coloration. <br />This fill material shall be free of construction debris, rocks, or other foreign matter. The <br />sand shall have less than 2% fines (passing the #200 sieve) and be free of any material that <br />would be retained on the #4 sieve. A sample of the sand shall be provided to the staff <br />representative during the prec:onstruction conference. <br />5. No beach scraping is authorized. <br />
