40 <br />Emergencies: <br />6.27 In emergencies affecting the safety or protection of persons or the Work or property at the site <br />or adjacent thereto, CONTRACTOR, without special instruction or authorization from <br />ENGINEER or OWNER, is obligated to act to prevent threatened damage, injury or loss <br />CONTRACTOR shall give ENGINEER prompt written notice that any significant changes <br />in the Work or variations from the Contract Documents have been caused thereby. If <br />ENGINEER determines that a change in the Contract Documents is required because of the <br />action taken in response to an emergency, a Work Directive Change or Change Order will be <br />issued to document the consequences of the changes or variations. <br />Shop Drawings and Samples: <br />6.28 After checking and verifying all field measurements and after complying with applicable <br />procedures specified in the General Requirements, CONTRACTOR shall submit to <br />ENGINEER for review in accordance with the accepted schedule of Shop Drawing <br />submissions (see paragraph 2.9), or for other appropriate action if so indicated in the <br />Supplementary Conditions, five (5) copies (unless otherwise specified in the General <br />Requirements) of all Shop Drawings, which will bear a stamp or specific written indication <br />that CONTRACTOR has satisfied CONTRACTOR's responsibilities under the Contract <br />Documents with respect to the review of the submission. All submissions will be identified <br />as ENGINEER may require. The data shown on the Shop Drawings will be complete with <br />respect to quantities, dimensions, specified performance and design criteria, materials and <br />similar data to enable ENGINEER to review the information as required. <br />6.29 CONTRACTOR shall also submit to ENGINEER for review with such promptness as to <br />cause no delay in Work, all samples required by the Contract Documents. All samples will <br />have been checked by and accompanied by a specific written indication that CONTRACTOR <br />has satisfied CONTRACTOR's responsibilities under the Contract Documents with respect <br />to the review of the submission and will be identified clearly as to material, Supplier, <br />pertinent data such as catalog numbers and the use for which intended. <br />6.30 Before submission of each Shop Drawing or sample CONTRACTOR shall have determined <br />and verified all quantities, dimensions, specified performance criteria, installation <br />requirements, materials, catalog numbers and similar data with respect thereto and reviewed <br />or coordinated each Shop Drawing or sample with other Shop Drawings and samples and with <br />the requirements of the Work and the Contract Documents. <br />6.31 At the time of each submission, CONTRACTOR shall give ENGINEER specific written <br />notice of each variation that the Shop Drawings or samples may have from the requirements <br />of the Contract Documents, and in addition, shall cause a specific notation to be made on each <br />Shop Drawing submitted to ENGINEER for review of each such variation. <br />6.32 ENGINEER will review with reasonable promptness (a maximum of 14 days) Shop drawings <br />and samples, but ENGINEER's review will be only for conformance with the design concept <br />of the Project and for compliance with the information given in the Contract Documents and <br />shall not extend to means, methods, techniques, sequences or procedures of construction <br />GENERAL CONUi fiONS <br />GC18 <br />
