BOOK A5 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Chapter 105.06 of the Indian River County Code provides for a manual that outlines the Board's policy <br />for purchasing commodities and services. From time to time this manual requires addendums and changes <br />to provide updated guidelines in doing business with the public. <br />Due to recent problems with handling of contracts, staff has developed step by step guidelines which will <br />direct all employees in the proper manner to handle bids, awards, and insure proper disposition of <br />applicable contracts. <br />A copy of the proposed section of the Purchasing Manual is attached for your perusal. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends approval of the proposed Section 2.2 of the manual. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously approved <br />the proposed Section 2.2, Purchasing Bid and Award <br />Procedures, as an addendum to the Purchasing Manual, <br />as recommended in the Memorandum. <br />L. "Sonny" Dean, Director General Service <br />FROM: Fran Boynton Powell, Purchasing Manage <br />SUBJ: Declare Equipment Surplus for Sale <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The attached list of the following equipment has been declared surplus to the needs of <br />the County. <br />ANALYSIS. <br />Staff recommends that authority be granted by the Board of County Commissioners to <br />declare these items surplus and authorize its sale. <br />FUNDING: <br />The monies received from this sale will be returned to the appropriate accounts. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />This will be place on the Surplus Property Sale open to the public as per Florida State <br />Statutes. <br />November 5, 1996 <br />28 <br />E- j <br />
