BOOK 99 F -AE 553 <br />P. 800 MHz Radio System/Fiber Optic Cable Connectivity Interlocal <br />Agreement - City of Vero Beach <br />The Board reviewed a Memorandum of October 28, 1996: <br />DATE: October 28, 1996 - <br />TO: Honorable Board of County Commissioners <br />THRU: James E. Chandler <br />County Administrator <br />FROM: H.T. "Sonny" Dean, Director <br />Department of General Services <br />SUBJECT: 800MHz Radio System/Fiber Optic Cable Connectivity <br />Agreement with City of Vero Beach <br />BACKGROUND: <br />In May of this year, the Board approved the new 800 NM radio system project which included installation <br />of a Fiber Optic Cable for connectivity between the north and south transmission towers. The proposed <br />cable link within the City of Vero Beach was proposed to use a portion of the City's fiber optic cable which <br />was already in place. <br />ANALYSTS: <br />Staff has been negotiating with the City to identify exactly each governmental entity's obligation toward <br />a successful project and insure everyone's needs were met. The results of this effort is reflected in a formal <br />written agreement The Vero Beach City Council met in regular session with their staff and approved the <br />agreement as submitted. <br />RECOMMENDATION• <br />Staff recommends board approval and requests authorization for their Chairman to execute the attached <br />agreement. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously approved <br />the Interlocal Agreement with the City of Vero Beach <br />and authorized execution of same, as recommended in <br />the Memorandum. <br />INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT IS ON FILE <br />IN THE OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD <br />36 <br />November 5, 1996 <br />
