40 <br />40 M 720 4th St. Vero Beach, FL asbestos survey report 09122100 page 3 <br />bulk samples VAT2, VAT3, & VAT7 should be considered prior to any renovation or <br />demolition activities that will crumble, sand, or cause these material to become friable, <br />Qgnclusion: <br />Asbestos containing. o�g materials, resilient floor coverings (floor tiles and linoleum) <br />and mastics in good condition are defined in the EPA NESHAP regulations as <br />non-regulated Category I materials. if the Category I material is crumbled or damaged <br />and for visible emissions are generated during renovation, these materials then become <br />regulated and subject to EPA NESHAP regulations, <br />Note: Licensure as an "Asbestos Abatement Contractor" is not required to remove or <br />dispose of asbestos containing resilient flooring and its adhesive or roofing materials <br />provided the conditions outlined in § 489.004 Florida Statutes are met. All asbestos <br />containing debris must be properly handled and disposed of. Notification to Florida <br />Department of Professional Regulation is required for resilient flooring removal. 'the <br />clisposaLof all asbestos containing construction or renovation_ debris must be <br />pe -approved or authorized prior t n ac ivi les that may disturb or Impact <br />tie ACM and is part of the required agency notification process. Notification to the <br />Department of Environmental Protection, DEP and Indian River County Health <br />Department is required for construction work at least ten days prior to starting any <br />construction or renovation activity. <br />Recomm ndations: <br />Removal and proper disposal of asbestos containing material RFa by an appropriately <br />licensed Asbestos Abatement Contractor prior to starting any renovations to the building <br />interior is recommended in order to reduce the possibility of an asbestos fiber release <br />clue to improper handling of this material. <br />Limitations of Asbestos Surveys: <br />Portions of the samples that were not consumed in the analysis will be retained for a <br />period of 30 days. The samples will be disposed of by the analytical laboratory if <br />Associated Radon Services does not receive written notification requesting otherwise <br />prior to that date. <br />This Survey report is not an abatement or building demolition specification. <br />Samples were collected from readily accessible, representative material locations for <br />each class of interior suspect asbestos containing materials. The scope and extent of <br />the sample collection was limited to convenient, unobtrusive accessible areas in the <br />building by the client. No attempt was made to disassemble interior structure, equipment <br />or machinery or to demolish or conduct intrusive investigation of interior structural or <br />f nishing materials. <br />Wall cavities, voids, closed in areas, or covered previously finished surfaces that contain <br />unreported asbestos containing materials may exist. <br />
