Brown, County Administrator <br />Kristin Daniels, Budget Director <br />FROM: Jennifer Hyde, Purchasing Manager <br />SUBJECT: Award of Bid 2022052 for Relocation of Fire Observation Tower <br />BACKGROUND: <br />On January 11, 2022, the Board directed staff to negotiate with the City of Fellsmere regarding <br />transfer of ownership of the Fire Tower located adjacent to Fire Station 13, and authorized <br />$40,000 in funding to facilitate the removal of the tower. The Board approved Resolution 2022- <br />027 on May 17, 2022 authorizing the transfer of ownership of the tower to the City of Fellsmere. <br />Bids were solicited and received as shown below for the dismantling and relocation of the tower <br />to a location at the Headwaters Lake Boat Ramp. <br />BID RESULTS: <br />Advertising Date: April 29, 2022 <br />Bid Opening Date: May 27, 2022 <br />Solicitation Broadcast to: 651 Subscribers <br />Bid Documents Requested by: 13 Firms <br />Replies: 2 Firms <br />Firm Location Total Bid <br />Custom Welding Diversified, Inc. Port St. Lucie $97,326 <br />Razorback LLC Tarpon Springs $144,690 <br />ANALYSIS: <br />The Public Works Department has reviewed the bids and determined Custom Welding Diversified, <br />Inc. to be the lowest, responsive, responsible bidder. <br />FUNDING: <br />Funds to dismantle and transport the tower will be placed on a forthcoming budget amendment to <br />be funded from Emergency Services District/Reserve for Contingency. <br />41 <br />
