� � r <br />MASTER PLAN CONTINUING CONSULTING SERVICES - BROWN & <br />CALDWELL <br />The Board reviewed a Memorandum of November 4, 1996: <br />DATE: November 4, 1996 <br />TO: JAMES E. CAI , .E. <br />AND STAFFED CAPITAL PRO S ENGINEER <br />BY: DEPAR UTILITY SERVICES <br />SUBJECT: MASTER PLAN, CONTINUING CONSULTING SERVICES <br />The firm of Brown and Caldwell is the approved consultant for all <br />master -planning services (See attached agenda item and minutes). <br />To date, we have been satisfied with their responsiveness to the <br />Utilities Department's needs. The department now wishes to <br />continue with this contract. The approved funding requested for <br />this work is the same as in the previous year, $45,000 (See <br />attached invoice). Although only $8,470.79 of last year's approved <br />amount was utilized, the potential exists in the upcoming year for <br />the same level of funding. <br />The duties under the proposed contract (i.e., Work Authorization 9) <br />will basically remain the same as in previous years (i.e., <br />Hydraulic Model Updates, Industrial Waste Pretreatment Analysis, <br />Sludge Analysis and miscellaneous engineering) with the addition of <br />various specific financial (Master Plan Related) funding and SCADA <br />(telemetry) system review as needed. The firm of ,.Brown and - <br />Caldwell has currently completed a reevaluation of the North County <br />service area as part of the acquisition of the Sebastian Utilities <br />and is in the process of completing a detailed control Master Plan <br />for our effluent delivery system. All of which were previously <br />approved by the Board. With all of the ongoing work currently <br />being performed by Brown and Caldwell, staff feels that they are <br />the most qualified and cost effective firm for the County's master <br />planning needs in the upcoming year. Funding for this work will be <br />from account number 472-000-169-146.00 and 471-218-536-033.21, as <br />needed. <br />The staff of the Department of Utility Services recommends that the <br />Board of County Commissioners approve the attached work <br />authorization, No. 9, and authorize the chairman to execute same. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously approved <br />Work Authorization No. 9 with Brown and Caldwell and <br />authorized the Chairman to execute the same, as <br />recommended by staff. <br />AUTHORIZATION IS ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE <br />CLERK TO THE BOARD <br />NOVEMBER 12, 1996 113 BOOK <br />99 PAGE 778 <br />
