Adams <br />Chairman of the Board of County <br />Commissioners, constituting the Board of County Canvassers in and for said <br />A <br />County, do hereby certify that we met on the 51day of November, <br />A.D., 1996, and proceeded publicly to canvass the votes given for the <br />Proposed Amendments to the Constitution of the State of Florida on the <br />Fifth day of November, A.D., 1996 as shown by the returns on file in the <br />office of the Supervisor of Elections. We do hereby certify from said <br />returns as follows. <br />No. 1 <br />Constitutional Amendment <br />Article XI, Section 7 (Initiative) <br />Tax Limitation: Should Two-thirds Vote be Required for New <br />Constitutionally -imposed State Taxes/fees? <br />Prohibits imposition of new State taxes or fees on or after November 8, <br />1994 by constitutional amendment unless approved by two-thirds of the <br />voters voting in the election. Defines "new State taxes or fees" as revenue <br />subject to appropriation by State Legislature, which tax or fee is not in <br />effect on November 7, 1994.
