No. 3 <br />Constitutional Amendment <br />Article V, Sections 11 and 12 (Legislative) <br />Judiciary <br />Proposing amendments to the State Constitution to allow judicial <br />nominating commissions to recommend from three up to six persons to fill a <br />court vacancy; and to restructure the Judicial Qualifications Commission <br />and permit additional sanctions for judicial misconduct. <br />FOR Z3. 777 votes <br />AGAINST /�_ 995 votes <br />No. 4 <br />Constitutional Amendment <br />Article VII, Section 9 (Initiative) <br />Fee on Everglades Sugar Production <br />Provides=that the South Florida Water Management District shall levy an <br />Everglades Sugar Fee of one cent per pound on raw sugar grown in the <br />Everglades Agricultural Area to raise funds to be used, consistent with <br />statutory law, for purposes of conservation and protection of natural <br />resources and abatement of water pollution in the Everglades. The fee is <br />imposed for twenty-five years. <br />FOR ,Z% K votes <br />AGAINST 2(; 616 votes <br />No. 5 <br />Constitutional Amendment <br />Article ll, Section 7 (Initiative) <br />Responsibility for Paying Costs of Water Pollution Abatement in the Everglades <br />The Constitution currently provides the authority for the abatement of water pollution. This <br />proposal adds a provision to provide that those in the Everglades Agricultural Area who <br />cause water pollution within the Everglades Protection Area or the Everglades Agricultural <br />Area shall be primarily responsible for paying the costs of the abatement of that pollution. <br />FOR 2. votes <br />AGAINST votes <br />No. 6 <br />Constitutional Amendment <br />Article X, Section 17 (Initiative) <br />Everglades Trust Fund <br />Establishes an Everglades Trust Fund to be administered by the South Florida Water <br />Management District for purposes of conservation and protection of natural resources and <br />abatement of water pollution in the Everglades.
