The target date for <br />Objective 2 would be extended from 1995 to 2010. Staff is looking <br />at putting in some of the policies from the National Estuaries <br />Program. Under Objective 3, staff recommends deletion of policy <br />3.7 concerning liveaboard regulations. It is a State requirement <br />to include manatee protection regarding marina boat facility siting <br />criteria. Staff is recommending a new policy to address coastal <br />armoring and beach renourishment (under Objective 4), to make it <br />easier for the Board to make decisions and to set up some <br />standards/criteria for permits. <br />Director Keating advised that Objective 5 related to the <br />State's requirements, explaining that the State has changed the <br />definition of Coastal High Hazard Zone, and has substantially <br />expanded the geographic scope of the CHHZ to include the evacuation <br />zone for a category 1 storm. <br />Director Keating advised that staff proposed deletion of <br />policies 5.5 and 11.3 and that policies 11.4 and 11.5 be revised. <br />17 <br />November 12, 1996 <br />BOOK 99 F�r,E 8$)1 <br />i <br />
