r <br />Boa 99 PnE 802 <br />Staff is also recommending that there not be any increase in the <br />existing Comprehensive Plan land use designations in the CHHZ and <br />explained the reasoning behind it. <br />Commissioner Bird questioned how can we be consistent with <br />Objective 5 recalling various difficulties encountered now, and <br />Director Keating agreed and that was why they were suggesting <br />revision. <br />Director Keating advised that staff was seeing that it needed <br />to be changed and we will keep pumping infrastructure money to <br />support the densities that are already allowed by the Comprehensive <br />Plan. <br />Director Keating thought the State's objective was to reduce <br />the damage in the event of a hurricane. <br />Concerns were expressed about the State calling the shots for <br />a hurricane.evacuation. <br />Based on information that came from the County's Emergency <br />Services, Mr. DeBlois understood that the State sets the category, <br />but the County determines what that means as far as evacuation. <br />County Attorney Vitunac will check into the specifics required <br />under Chapter 163. <br />Director Keating explained the new policy under Objective 10 <br />which supports beach renourishment and the PEP reef.
