ARTICLE 23 <br />HOLIDAYS <br />23.01 The County recognizes the following holidays and any other days authorized by the <br />Board of County Commissioners under the auspices of the Indian River County Administrative <br />Policy. <br />1. New Year's Day <br />2. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day <br />3. Good Friday <br />4. Memorial Day <br />5. Independence Day <br />6. Labor Day <br />7. Veteran's Day <br />8. Thanksgiving Day <br />9. Friday after Thanksgiving Day <br />10. Last working day before Christmas <br />11. Christmas Day <br />23.02 Compensation to all Battalion Chiefs for all above -referenced holidays, whether <br />worked or not, shall be in accord with existing County and Departmental policy and practice as of <br />July 2, 2025, which includes 18 hours of pay if the bargaining unit employee works the holiday <br />and 12 hours of pay if the bargaining unit employee does not work the holiday. <br />34 <br />
