ARTICLE 24 <br />INSURANCE BENEFITS <br />24.01 The County shall provide insurance for all bargaining unit employees and their <br />dependents in the same manner as the County's general non -bargaining unit employees, including <br />the retiree health insurance subsidy, hospitalization, and medical insurance. <br />24.02 The County shall maintain in full force and effect, and pay all premiums for, a life <br />insurance policy on the life of each employee, payable to a beneficiary designated by the respective <br />insured employee. Such life insurance policy shall be based on an amount equal to the employee's <br />annual salary to the nearest high thousand as of the month following the payroll change. <br />24.03 Separation shall be effective as of the date of death. All compensation and benefits <br />due to the employee as of the effective date of separation shall be paid to the beneficiary, surviving <br />spouse, or estate of the employee as determined by law or by executed forms in the employee's <br />personnel folder. <br />35 <br />
