ARTICLE 7 <br />UNION ACTIVITY <br />The provisions of this Article shall be in conjunction with, and not in addition to, the provisions <br />of the Rank & File Agreement. <br />7.01 The Employer and the Union acknowledge that the right of employees to work shall <br />not be deprived or abridged on account of membership, non -membership, participation, or non - <br />participation in any Union or organization. <br />7.02 By mutual agreement of the Employer and the Union, there is hereby established <br />a Joint Labor -Management Committee, which shall consist of not more than three (3) members <br />designated by the Union and three (3) members designated by the Fire Chief. The Union <br />Committee membership shall consist of persons from within the position classification covered by <br />this agreement, and the management membership shall consist of persons within the Department, <br />but outside the bargaining unit as herein defined. Nothing herein requires the attendance of the <br />Director of Emergency Services or the Union President at any Labor -Management Committee <br />meeting. <br />7.03 This Labor -Management Committee shall meet if mutually agreed to by both <br />parties, and such meetings may be held during working hours as scheduled by the Fire Chief. <br />7.04 The purpose of these meetings will be to discuss the problems and objectives of <br />mutual concern, but in no way shall involve specific grievances filed or contemplated or matters <br />which have been the subject of current collective bargaining issues between the parties. <br />7.05 An agenda, listing the items for discussion, will be forwarded by the party <br />requesting such meeting to the other party no later than three (3) days prior to the meeting. <br />
