Board of County Commissioners Meeting Minutes - Final September 9, 2025 <br />9.R. 25-0829 Approval of Resolution Establishing Utility Rates for Housing Choice <br />Voucher Program for Fiscal Year 2026 <br />Recommended action: Staff respectfully recommends the Board of County Commissioners approve the <br />resolution setting the Utility Rates for Fiscal Year 2026 and authorize the Chairman to <br />execute the resolution on behalf of the Board. <br />Attachments: Resolution - Utility Allowances FY2026 <br />Utility Allowances - FY2026 <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Adams, seconded by Chairman Flescher, <br />approved staffs recommendation and Resolution 2025-038, approving revisions <br />to the Housing Choice Voucher Program Utility Allowance Schedule for Fiscal <br />Year 2026. A meeting was held, <br />which included representatives from GHO, the Sebastian River Improvement <br />District, and Public Works, focusing on roadway upgrades. The current alignment <br />of 74th Avenue was misaligned, with a paved section from SR60 to 26th Street <br />and an unpaved segment from 26th to 33rd Street. Plans involved an exchange <br />agreement with the Sebastian River Improvement District to create a straight <br />road, with a deed executed by GHO affirming rights-of-way. Ms. Prado <br />requested the Board open the public hearing to receive public comments, noting <br />Indian River County, Florida Page 8 <br />
