PINT01 <br />DIRECTOR OF IL3kTY� VICES <br />PREPARED WILLIAM F. , P.E <br />AND STAFFED CAPITAL P E ER <br />BY: DEPARTME LITY SERVICES <br />SUBJECT: CORNERST SELECT HOMES, INC., DEVELOPER'S <br />AGREEMENT FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE SEBASTIAN <br />MODEL HOME CENTER <br />BACKGROUND <br />Attached is a proposed developer's agreement with Cornerstone <br />Select Homes, Inc., for reimbursement of offsite utility <br />construction. The construction consists of an 8 -inch water main on <br />US 1 south of Schumann Drive, _which is sized to serve the <br />surrounding area. Cost-sharing is covered in the agreement under <br />Exhibits A and B. <br />ANALYSIS <br />As stated, Exhibits A and B of the attached agreement identify the <br />cost-sharing between the developer and the County. A summary of <br />cost-sharing is as follows: <br />Water Main <br />Developer's share $ 2,868.75 <br />County's share 22.503.25 <br />Total Project Cost $25,372.00 <br />The construction of this system will assist the County in expanding <br />the water system. Water service can be provided from a line on <br />the north side of the developer's property (see attached location <br />map). However, as a result of the Utilities Department's need to <br />provide future service to the south of this site, we have requested <br />the developer to extend a water main to service the area to the <br />south across. his property and recover a portion of the cost from <br />the developer per our line extension ordinance at a charge of <br />$11.25 per front foot. The total estimated cost to the County of <br />$22,503.25 will be paid from the Utilities impact fee fund. <br />The staff of the Department of Utility Services recommends that the <br />Board of County Commissioners approve the developer's agreement as <br />presented and authorize the chairman to execute same. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Ginn, the Board unanimously approved <br />the Agreement with Cornerstone Select Homes, Inc. <br />for the construction of off-site utilities for the <br />Sebastian Model Home Center, as recommended by <br />staff. <br />AGREEMENT IS ON FILE IN THE OFFICE <br />OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD <br />DECEMBER 17, 1996 129 <br />
