There being no further business on motion made,.seconded and carried the Board then <br />adjourned until the next regularsmeeting. <br />M <br />I„ <br />A T.o <br />Chairman <br />C 1 e r <br />TAY, DE ER 5 th .1933. <br />The Board of County Commissioners in and for Indian River County, Florida,.,met at, <br />the Court House in Vere Beach, at MOO o'clock A.M. Tuesday, December 5th 1933, with <br />e < <br />following members of the Beard presents J.J.P.Hamilton, Chairman; J. D. Yongue; R. B. <br />Nadgel John K. Snight and Edwin A Helseth. also present were Niles warren, Clerk and <br />wa. Frick, 'Sheriff. <br />The minutes of the previous meetings were read and approved. <br />w. H. tArne, architect, appeared before the Board respecting the application for a <br />loan for construction of a Court House. it *as ordered that he be given authority to <br />write Federal. Officials with reference to this loan. <br />Walter 'S Buokingham, appeared regarding the Fox family and their request to be <br />transferred to Foley, Florida, where the husband has secured work. It appearing to the <br />Board this family is destitute and a charge upon the community, it was ordered that $20.E <br />be appropriated to get them to Mey. <br />Notary Public bond of Helen S. Luly in the sum of $500.00 with Columbia Casualty 00, <br />a corporation, of New York as surety was approved. <br />The following action was taken with respect to paupers and those receiving aid from <br />the Nothers Pension fund of the., County. <br />P A .N., P E R Ss <br />N, N. 1'. Hi Vdxp, Aiffard, to receive- #8.04- per month"° <br />]KOTIMPS PENSION' FM 0 <br />Elva- J Shel-19 Nero Beach,, reduced. to $10.00 per month <br />Annie Park, Sebastian, ordered stricken <br />The following resolution was offered by the Board and unanimously adopteds <br />MMe during the year 1933, it is apparent to this Board that the officials in <br />charge have always worked in harm rW with the aim and view to out down unnecessary cri- <br />minal costs to be charged against the County, and <br />W=FdM ouch action on the part of the officials has resulted in groat savings to V <br />County and the citizens, <br />THMEF0139 BE IT RE90L9ED, by the Board of County Commissioners that a vote of than] <br />be extended to the Hon William Brick, Sheriff, and the Hon. C. P. diamond, for their <br />f! successful efforts to, materially reduce criminal costs and the cost of feeding the pri- <br />soners during the year 1933 over previous years past. <br />The Clerk announced that the County Commissioners of 3t Lucie County advised him thi <br />a <br />Bt Lucie County will be in position about January lot 1934 to take over any County con- <br />j victs of this County, and it was ordered that at such time as convenient to .St Lucie <br />r S <br />III County* that a lease be made and entered into between said Counties to lease such County <br />convicts of this County from time to time during the year 1934. <br />It was moved by Commissioner Knight and seconded by Commissioner Helseth that <br />C C <br />common labor on the roads be set at 30.e per hour in accordance with the wage scale set b1 <br />the Civil worts Administration of the Federal Goverment,. and that truck drivers be paid <br />t - <br />35.0 per hour for their services.
