Chandler <br />County Administrator <br />v � <br />From: Bob Komarinetzifwf <br />Director of Go <br />Subj: Dunes Course Greens Renovations Project - Contract Award <br />In December 1996 the Board approved the subject project and authorized staff to proceed with all <br />aspects in order to be complete with the "grow in" of the grass by October 1997. <br />On February 10, 1997, the Board approved staffs ranking of contractors that had submitted proposals <br />and authorized staff to proceed with negotiations for a contract with the number one ranked firm, <br />Tifton Golf Services, Inc. who also submitted the lowest price to perform the work. The submittals <br />received out of twenty-six requests sent out, reflected the following pricing: <br />L Tifton Golf Services, Inc. $295,972.50 <br />2. Total Golf Construction, L.C. -- 366,960.51 <br />3. GRC, Inc. 444,380.00 <br />4. Quality Grassing & Services, Inc. -- 458.842.50 <br />Staff met with Tifton Golf Services, Inc. to negotiated a contract with price and time table to have <br />the work completed to accommodate the season. <br />Section 105.04, (1) of the County Code provides for waiver of a Performance Bond on certain <br />contracts.. Staff feels, that due to the short period of time to perform the work and reputation of <br />this company, a Performance Bond is not necessary. The submittal of Tifton, included $6,000 for a <br />such a bond which could be eliminated and those momes be used to enhance the golf course. <br />Staff recommends award of a contract to Tifton Golf Services, Inc. and authorize elimination of a <br />Performance Bond. Total contract price would be $289,972.50. A budget of $360,000 had been <br />approved for this project.
