The area had been a haven for <br />partying young people but there is much more development in there <br />and staff sees less vandalism than 10-20 years ago. <br />Commissioner Adams asked Director Davis to check Task 6 on the <br />FRDAP grant application. Her concern was that the County should be <br />applying for the FRDAP grant rather than Smith & Associates. She <br />was not sure why it was being done this way. <br />Director Davis explained that the application preparation is <br />a cooperative effort. It would not be a good idea to leave it out <br />of the agreement. He added that the company does the application <br />form, but the County signs it, and -this is the way it is done by <br />all consultants hired by the County. <br />Commissioner Ginn then asked about the design of the pavilion, <br />and Director Davis explained that Brad Smith is a landscape <br />architect who works with indigenous plants in the coastal hammock <br />and is very adept at plant relocation and blending the native <br />vegetation into a park setting. <br />Commissioner Adams pointed out that his task is to come back <br />with two concept plans. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED THE QUESTION and the motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />AGREEMENT IS ON FILE IN -THE <br />OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD. <br />FECRR BLANKET UTILITY CROSSING AGREE;IVIENT <br />Item withdrawn. <br />COUNTY ATTORNEY REPORT ON LAWSUIT FILED CHALLENGING <br />MII.LAR-SOMOZA E11+IERGENCY SEAWALL PERAM <br />County Attorney Vitunac advised that yesterday afternoon his <br />office was served with a copy of a complaint filed by Mr. and Mrs. <br />James Clemens challenging the Millar -Somoza emergency seawall <br />permit. An emergency injunction hearing was requested for April <br />21st, 1997. <br />County Attorney Vitunac advised that he had not had an <br />opportunity to analyze the case.
