The apparent low bidder does not have an <br />appropriate contractor's license to do business in Indian River County. (See <br />attached Departmental memo) <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Ginn, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Macht, the Board unanimously awarded Bid #7047 <br />to Sunnyland Clearing, Inc., in the amount of $16,400, as <br />recommended in the Memorandum. <br />E. Emergency Management Preparedness and Assistance (EMPA) Base <br />Grant Agreement Contract — Modification #1 <br />The Board reviewed a Memorandum dated April 29, 1997: <br />TO: Board of County Commissioners <br />THROUGH: Jim Chandler, County Administrator <br />FROM: Doug Wright, Director <br />Emergency Services <br />DATE: April 29, 1997 <br />SUBJECT: Modification #1- Emergency Management Preparedness and Assistance (EMPA) <br />Base Grant Agreement Contract #97CP-05-10-40-01-031 <br />It is respectfully requested that the information contained herein be given formal consideration <br />by the Board of County Commissioners at the next scheduled meeting. <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS: <br />On November 5, 1996, the Board of County Commissioners approved and authorized the <br />Chairman to execute the Emergency Management Preparedness and Assistance (EMPA) Base <br />Grant Agreement which secured funding for state required Emergency Management activities <br />in the amount of $110,521. Indian River County is now in receipt of Modification #1 to the <br />Agreement requiring additional conditions in accordance with Governor's Executive Order 96- <br />236. <br />ALTERNATIVES AND ANALYSIS: <br />Staff has discussed the proposed modifications with the Florida Division of Emergency <br />Management's grants manager who stated that each of the sixty-seven counties received the same <br />modification letter to comply with new state administrative rules for publicly -funded contracts. <br />5 BOOK� d.9 � P��.CE 4�� <br />MAY 13, 1997 <br />
