RESOLUTION SUPPORTING SB -902 & HB -1319 <br />The Board reviewed the Memorandum dated May 8, 1997: <br />To: Board of County Commissioners <br />From: Commissioner Fran B. Adams _' A <br />Date: May 8, 1997 <br />Re: Resolution supporting SB -902 and HB -1319 <br />Please authorize the adoption of a resolution, and <br />the Chairman to sign, supporting SB -902 and HB -1319, <br />explained in detail in the attached Legislative Alert <br />Article V Legislation. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Macht, SECONDED BY Commissioner <br />Ginn, the Board unanimously adopted Resolution 97-54 supporting SB <br />902 and BB -1319. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 97- 54 <br />A RESOLUTION OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, TO <br />THE GOVERNOR AND THE LT. GOVERNOR OF THE <br />STATE OF FLORIDA IN SUPPORT OF SB 902 AND HB 1319 <br />REGARDING ARTICLE V LEGISLATION. <br />authorize <br />which is <br />regarding <br />WHEREAS, Senate Bill 902 creates a trust fund as a place -holder to earmarked <br />funds which will be used to assist the counties in funding the state court system; and <br />WHEREAS, House Bill 1319 provides a revenue source for the trust fund by <br />establishing a four-year phase-in of the state's portion of the general revenue moneys <br />received from civil traffic infractions; establishes a committee to develop an allocation and <br />disbursement plan for the trust fund; and includes a provision to allow additional fi es of <br />up to $150 that would remain local for court improvements to be assessed againstrtain <br />criminals; <br />55 <br />MAY 1311997 <br />G0;" PAGE �� <br />
