2. The circuit -wide upgrade of the computer system by the Public Defender has required <br />an upgrade of software and hardware in the County Court system at a cost of <br />$5,500.00 ($5285.00 cost phis $215 contingency). The attached entry appropriates <br />funding from the Court Facility fund. <br />3. Traffic Engineering had included a marking truck in their 1996/97 budget and it was <br />eliminated in the budget carts. The vehicle unfortunately needs to be replaced. The <br />attached entry appropriates funding. <br />4. On June 3, 1997 the Board of County Commissioners approved a budget amendment <br />in the amount of $14,285 from the Confiscated Property and Fine and Forfeiture Fund <br />at the Sheriffs request. The attached entry appropriates funding. <br />5. The Budding and Grounds department had to make an emergency replacement of the <br />security glass at the County Jail which cost $10,154.78. The attached entry <br />appropriates funding from the General Fund contingency. <br />6. The Planning Department needs to install a computer rack system to efficiently <br />operate their system at a cost of $6,000. The attached entry appropriates funds from <br />M.S.T.U. contingency. <br />7. The Personnel Department requested a copier in their 1996/97 budget but it was <br />eliminated. Their copier is printing copies which are barely readable and unfortunately <br />needs to be replaced. A copier will be approadmately $2,000.00. The attached entry <br />appropriates funding. <br />8. On March 25, 1997 the BCC approved paying off the $3,325,000 balance of the <br />Refund and Improvement Bonds, Series 1985. The attached entry appropriates the <br />funding based on the actual cost to pay-off the bonds. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends that the Board of County Commissioners approve the attached budget amendment <br />026. <br />County Administrator Tim Chandler advised there has been a change since the Amendment was <br />submitted, and Budget Director Joe Baird explained that Item 2 of the Amendment allocating $5500 to <br />a computer system upgrade will require $500 additional funds, together with an approval of an <br />amended Amendment #026. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Adams, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Ginn, the Board unanimously approved an <br />additional amount of $500 to be added to Item 2, upgrade of <br />the computer system by the Public Defender, as recommended <br />by staff. <br />JUNE 179 1997 <br />f <br />11 <br />
