McCAIN, E <br />AND STAFFED CAPITAL PROJECTS ER <br />BY: DEPARTMENT OF I SERVICES <br />SUBJECT: ALTERNATIVE WA R SUPPLY MATCHING GRANT FROM <br />ST. JOHNS RIVER WATER MANAGEMENT DISTRICT <br />BACKGROUND <br />In late 1996, the Utilities Department staff applied for a second <br />Alternative Water Supply Matching Grant from the St. Johns River <br />Water Management District. In August of 1996, the County received <br />its first Alternative Sources Matching Grant in the amount of <br />$50,000.00, which was utilized to supplement funding for the North <br />County R.O. Plant wellfield. The current grant in the amount of <br />$75,000.00 will be used to supplement the construction of the R.O. <br />water plant. <br />ANALYSIS <br />Attached is the proposed cost share agreement between the St. Johns <br />River Water Management District and Indian River County relative to <br />the Alternative Water Supply Cost Sharing Program. The Utilities <br />Department staff is pleased to present this grant to the Board of <br />County Commissioners for approval. <br />JUNE 179 1997 <br />31 <br />
