Continue to review comprehensive emergency management plans for all <br />intermediate care facilities for the developmentally disabled, patient care facilities <br />serving seven or more people, and homes serving individuals who have complex <br />medical conditions. These plan reviews are required by law to be coordinated <br />with HRS, Agency for Health Care Administration, the Department of <br />Community Affairs, and appropriate volunteer organizations within 60 days of <br />receipt. <br />Staff understands that should the Base Grant Trust Fund revenue cease to be available, the Board <br />is under no obligation to fund the two (2) staff positions from other revenue sources. <br />RECOhEMM DATION: <br />Staff recommends the Board approve the Emergency Management, Preparedness and Assistance <br />Trust Fund which continues funding for the Emergency Management Planner, the Emergency <br />Management Planning Assistant, and expenses for non -capital and capital equipment as noted, <br />with the balance of the grant funds being retained in a contingency account for later allocation <br />during the fiscal year. <br />Later in the fiscal year, another agenda item will be submitted for Board approval to commit <br />unobligated funds to the completion of the scope of work requirements related to the Five -Year <br />Strategic Plan. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Ginn, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Adams, the Board unanimously approved the <br />Emergency Management, Preparedness and Assistance Trust <br />Fund, as recommended by staff. <br />GRANT AGREEMENT IS ON FILE IN THE <br />OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD <br />11.C. "Sonny" Dean, Director,,�-W <br />Department of General Services <br />Subject: North Indian River County Iabrary - Additional Property Purchase <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Mr. Jim Zengage, President of Southern Development Services, owner of properties immediately and <br />adjacent to the east side of the North Indian River County Library has offered to sell a portion of those <br />properties for expansion of that facility. He has provided a preliminary site plan that indicates the proposed <br />parking and expansion of the building. <br />On the plan there are two parcels labeled "A" and "B" for identification purposes. Parcel A contains 7,437 <br />+ square feet and Parcel B is 35,840 ± square feet for a total of approximately 43,277 square feet. <br />According to the plan acquisition of this property would allow an expansion of almost twice -the present <br />square footage of the library and a net increase of 53 parking spaces. <br />SEPTEMBER 16, 1997 <br />
