ON MOTION by Commissioner Adams, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Ginn, the Board unanimously <br />approved (1) the donation of communications <br />equipment to Indian River Farms Water Control <br />District, Recreation Department, Center For The Arts, <br />Environmental learning Center and The City of <br />Fellsmere, with the understanding that each <br />organization is accepting the equipment in an "as is" <br />condition; all costs associated with deprogramming, <br />reprogramming and maintenance are the <br />organizations' responsibility; and the radios are not to <br />be returned to the County under any circumstances; <br />(2) declaring the communications equipment on the <br />list from the Fixed Assets Manager as surplus, with <br />the exception of the equipment that is to be donated or <br />retained for use in the existing communications <br />system; (3) authorizing staff to advertise the <br />communications equipment on the Internet and any <br />other prudent method that may assist the County in <br />obtaining the greatest amount of revenue from the sale <br />of the equipment; (4) authorizing staff to sell the <br />communications equipment at auction or other method <br />of disposal consistent with the Indian River County <br />Purchasing Manual; and (5) authorizing staff, where <br />appropriate and as needed, to pay for certain radios to <br />be deprogrammed at a fee of $10 each, such as those <br />prior used in the public safety environment. <br />NOVEMBER 4, 1997 93 <br />BOOK. 103 P,,GE98 <br />
