"Sonny" Dean, Director <br />Department of General SerVices <br />Subject: Properties North of County Administration Building <br />BACKGROUND: <br />As it has become available, the County has been purchasing property north of the County Administration <br />budding between 26th and 27th streets. (See Exhibit 1). We have been using those properties to increase <br />employee parking, address Purchasing's need for additional storage, and expand our secured parking for <br />County owned vehicles. <br />ANALYSTS: <br />It has come to my attention that two more lots are now available for sale due to the death of the owner. This <br />writer was notified by the Estate Attorney of the availability and their desire to sell to the County. Staff <br />feels this property should be purchased due to the expanding needs of County operations within close <br />proximity of the Administration Building. With acquisition of these two lots, there will be only two and <br />one-half lots within the above described area that do not belong to the County. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />It is requested that authorization be given to staff to proceed with the necessary action to acquire this <br />property. <br />NOVEMBER 4, 1997 94 <br />
