Davis, P.E., <br />Public Works Directo <br />SUBJECT: Drainage Improvement P ject East of Old Dixie Highway North of 8`" Street <br />DATE: November 18, 1997 <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />In the mid 1980's, the County and property owners east of Old Dixie Highway north of 8"' <br />Street cooperatively funded and constructed a drainage ditch between Old Dixie Highway <br />and the FEC Railroad to relieve flooding in the area. The constructed ditch at that time <br />took a non -straight alignment with many sharp turns to avoid creating an adverse impact <br />on developed and undeveloped parcel. In addition, some of the ditch was existing prior <br />to the mid 1980's but was not in recorded drainage easements. <br />One parcel along the ditch's alignment recently was purchased from Claude Mathis (Knight <br />and Mathis, Inc.) To Charles Sullivan, Sr.(Glendale Trade Center). A site plan has been <br />developed for the property. Mr. SullivAn has aoreed to dedicate and exchange needed <br />easements to straighten out this ditch by constructing a new ditch on the site's west <br />property line. At the south end of the site, approximately 200' of 30" pipe is needed to <br />connect the new ditch to the SuRene Mobile Home Park section of the ditch.
