.Px% t1 FACE <br />Building Division Director Ester Rymer advised that from time -to -time the standard <br />technical codes are updated and this was such a time. She recommended the adoption of the <br />proposed ordinance and stated there were no major changes. <br />Chairman Eggert asked the status on hurricane shutters and some of the new types of <br />window glass and whether Dade County's Code on hurricane construction was part of this, <br />and Director Rymer advised that Dade County's Code is not a required part of the standard <br />code. It is being considered, however. <br />The Chairman opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to be heard in <br />this matter. There being none, she closed the public hearing. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Adams, SECONDED BY <br />Commissioner Macht, the Board unanimously adopted <br />Ordinance No. 97-27 updating the Standard Technical Codes to <br />reflect the latest editions, as recommended in the Memorandum. <br />ORDINANCE 97- 27 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, <br />FLORIDA, UPDATING THE STANDARD TECHNICAL <br />CODES TO REFLECT THE LATEST EDITIONS. <br />WHEREAS, Indian River County has adopted standard technical codes <br />for its building codes; and <br />WHEREAS, these technical codes are updated and new additions issued <br />from time to time pursuant to Section 553.73, F.S.; and <br />WHEREAS, the current required updated codes are set forth herein, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, that: <br />SECTION 1. AMENDMENT SECTION 401.01. <br />Section 401.01 is hereby partially amended to reflect deletion of the 1994 <br />editions and the addition of the new editions of the standard technical codes as <br />follows: <br />26 <br />December 2, 1997 <br />
