There were none. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Adams, the Board <br />unanimously approved the Minutes of the Regular <br />Meeting of January 13, 1998, as written. <br />7. CONSENT AGENDA <br />7.A. REPORTS <br />Received and placed on file in the Office of the Clerk to the Board: <br />1. St. Johns River Water Management District documents satisfying the <br />requirements of Section 189.418, Florida Statutes, to file creation documents <br />and District map (as filed with the Florida Department of Community Affairs). <br />2. Indian River Farms Water Control District, Notice that the Board of <br />Supervisors meets on the 2' Thursday of each month, unless otherwise <br />advertised and posted. <br />3. Indian River Farms Water Control District, Minutes of Board of Supervisors' <br />Meetings for the Period of October, 1996 through September 1997. <br />7.B. PROCLAMATIONOFINTERFAITHMEMORIAL SERVICE <br />HONORING FOUR ARMY CHAPLAINS - FIRST BAPTIST <br />CHURCH- SUNDAY. FEBRUARY 1. 1998 <br />The Board reviewed the following Proclamation: <br />JANUARY 27, 1998 <br />0 -2- 0 <br />PROCLAMATION <br />WHEREAS, on February 3, 1943, the USAT Dorchester was torpedoed by an enemy <br />submarine and tragically sunk. Of the 902 young men on board, only 230 survived Among the 672 <br />men who lost their lives were four men of God: Lt. Alexander D. Goode, a Rabbi; Lt. John P. <br />Washington, a Roman Catholic Priest; Lt. George L. Fox, a Methodist Minister, and Lt. Clark V. <br />Poling, a Dutch Reformed Minister - all Army Chaplains; and <br />WHEREAS, the Four Chaplains gave their life jackets to save four soldiers and, in so doing, <br />gave up their only means of survival. The Four Chaplains offered prayers for the dying and <br />encouragement for the survivors. They were last seen on the deck of the ship with their arms linked <br />together and their heads bowed in prayer as they went to their watery graves in the North Atlantic <br />Ocean off the coast of Greenland; and <br />JANUARY 27, 1998 <br />0 -2- 0 <br />
