Fr - <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Eggert, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Ginn, that the Board <br />approve the Joint Participation Agreement with the <br />State of Florida, Department of Transportation; <br />authorize the Chairman to execute same; and adopt <br />Resolution 98-028 authorizing a joint participation <br />in the construction of eastbound and westbound right <br />turn lanes on SR -60 at Kings Highway (58' <br />Avenue). <br />Commissioner Adams questioned the number of lanes and the time schedule, and <br />Public Works Director Jim Davis advised there will be 3 lanes westbound and eastbound <br />with a separate right turn lane for a total of 5 lanes. He anticipated beginning the project in <br />March and noted that it would take over a year to complete. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED TIE QUESTION and <br />the Motion passed unanimously. <br />AGREEMENT IS ON FILE IN THE OFFICE <br />OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD <br />RESOLUTION 98 - 28 <br />A RESOLUTION OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY <br />AUTHORIZING A JOINT PARTICIPATION IN THE <br />CONSTRUCTION OF EASTBOUND AND WESTBOUND <br />RIGHT TURN LANES ON SR 60 AT KINGS HIGHWAY (58TH <br />AVENUE) <br />WHEREAS, it is a policy of the State of Florida to construct and make <br />improvements to the state transportation system in a cooperative partnership; and <br />WHEREAS, such partnership shall be promoted and encouraged through the <br />joint funding of projects that improve traffic flow and reduce congestion of the State <br />Highway System; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, <br />Florida wishes to authorize the Chairman of the Commission, to enter into a Joint <br />Participation Agreement with the State of Florida Department of Transportation on <br />behalf of the Commission, <br />FEBRUARY 24, 1998 <br />-42- <br />• 0 <br />
