Thompson, P. <br />Capital Projects Manager <br />SUBJECT: Florida Department of Transportation <br />Joint Participation Agreement for <br />Eastbound and Westbound Right Turn Lanes on <br />SR 60 at Kings Highway (581 Avenue) <br />DATE: February 16, 1998 <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />Staff requested that the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) contribute funds <br />toward construction of eastbound and westbound right turn lanes on SR 60 at the <br />intersection of Kings Highway. <br />The attached agreement provides project expenses up to $50,000 for construction of <br />eastbound and westbound right turn lanes on SR 60. Construction of these right tum <br />lanes is included in the Kings Highway Improvements Project. Northbound and <br />southbound dual left tum lanes on IGngs Highway at SR 60 are also included in scheduled <br />improvements at this intersection. <br />The Kings Highway Improvement project has been awarded to Dickerson Florida, Inc.. <br />Construction is anticipated to begin in early March. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS AND FUNDING <br />Staff recommends that the Chairman be authorized to execute the attached Resolution <br />and Joint Participation Agreement. <br />Funding is from Account #109-214-541-067.31. <br />FEBRUARY 249 1998 <br />-41- <br />
