ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Adams, the Board <br />unanimously declared the original 40 --year lease with <br />Exchange Home of Indian River County <br />(subsequently assigned to Exchange Club Center for <br />Prevention of Child Abuse of the Treasure Coast, <br />Inc.) null and void due to abandonment by the lessee <br />and authorized staff to explore possible replacement <br />entities so the project may be resumed, as <br />recommended by staff. <br />7.F. MiscELL, NEOUS BUDGET AMENDMENT #12 <br />The Board reviewed a Memorandum of March 18, 1998: <br />TO: Members of the Board <br />of County Commissioners <br />DATE: March 18, 1998 <br />SUBJECT: MISCELLANEOUS BUDGET AMENDMENT 012 <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br />FROM: Joseph A. Baird" <br />OMB Director <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />The attached budget amendment is to appropriate funding for the following: <br />1. The Emergency Services District received a $4,170 donation from the Vero Beach Volunteer <br />Fire Deparment for a laptop computer. The attached entry appropriates funding. <br />2. On February 24, 1998 the Board of County Commissioners approved an adjustment to the <br />SherifFs budget in the amount of $101,310 for the January 1998 Broward prisoner revenue. <br />3. On March 10, 1998 the Board of County Cmâ–ºuaissiouers approved an adjustment to the <br />Sheriffs budget in the amount of$105,050 forthe February 1998 Broward prisoner revenue. <br />4. The attached entry appropriates funding for the Community Development Block Grant in the <br />amount of $750,000 and the local match of 576,000. The local match is to be transferred <br />from General Fund contingencies. <br />5. On August 27, 1997 the Solid Waste District received a Litter and Debris grant in the amount <br />of 519,165 which we passed on to Keep Indian River Beautiful. <br />6. On August 6, 1997 the Board of County Commissioners approved a Recycling and Education <br />Grant in the amount of 565,144. <br />7. On February 17, 1998 the Emergency Services District approved purchasing land for a fire <br />station ou the barrier island in the amount of$115,000. The attached entry appropriates funds <br />from the Emergency Services District. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends that the Board of County Commissioners approve the attached budget amendment. <br />MARCH 24, 1998 <br />-17- <br />L <br />
