Chairman Tippin advised that Mrs. Wheeler's family has rallied to help her out and <br />has agreed to pay the principal paving lien but is requesting that the Board forgive the <br />interest due on that lien. <br />County Administrator Chandler stated that the principal due is $1,519 and the interest <br />is $1,089. <br />County Attorney Vitunac commented that his office is not taking any foreclosure <br />action but is keeping the liens active. <br />Commissioner Adams was concerned about setting a precedent. She felt very <br />sympathetic to the lady involved but felt it would be unfair to others who have had <br />difficulties but have made the effort to pay off the liens. <br />Budget Director Joe Baird noted that the Project Number should be #8707, not #8702 <br />as noted in Ms. Deckard's letter. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Adams, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Macht, the Board <br />unanimously approved letting the County Attorney's <br />Office handle the matter with the understanding that <br />there will be no foreclosure on the property but <br />rather alien which will be disposed of when the <br />property is sold and that interest will continue to <br />accrue at the rate of 12% per annum. <br />U.B.
