_I <br />Vice Chairman Macht requested the addition of 13.B.2., discussion of a letter from <br />City of Vero Beach inviting the Board to attend their Special Call meeting concerning <br />purchase of the Lost Tree Village Islands. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Egger; SECONDED BY <br />Commissioner Ginn, the Board unanimously made the above <br />changes to the agenda. <br />5. PROCLAMATIONS AND PRESENTATIONS <br />S.A. Proclamation Dgs natin May 1. 1998 as Law Day <br />The Chairman read the following proclamation. There was no one present to accept. <br />April 28, 1998 <br />PROCLAMATION <br />WHEREAS, May 1 is LAW DAY in the United States of <br />America, and the theme this year of Law Week is to "Celebrate <br />Freedom: Ensuring Justice;- and <br />citadel of the individual ites liberty States <br />eandof a beacon of s beeh pen the <br />and <br />opportunity for more than 200 years to many millions who <br />have sought our shores and relied upon our justice system; and <br />WHEREAS, the foundation of individual freedom and liberty <br />is the body of law that governs us; and <br />WHEREAS, the Constitution of the United States of <br />America and the Bill of Rights are the heart of that body of <br />law, which guarantees us many freedoms including freedom of <br />religious belief, freedom to have and to hold property <br />inviolate, freedom of assembly, freedom of speech, freedom <br />of ryes , freedom of petition, and due process of law among <br />WHEREAS, this year marks the 91st annual nationwide <br />observance of LAW DAY, and the Congress of the United States <br />and the President by official proclamation have set aside May 1 <br />as a special day for recognition of the place of law in American <br />life; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE INDIAN RIVER COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS that May 1, 1998 be observed as <br />LAW DAY <br />in Indian River County, and the <br />Board calls <br />schools, business s, clubs,andthe newsmedinl <br />at Commemorate <br />the role of law in our lives. <br />Adopted this 28 day of April, 1998. <br />2 <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />jn 44P;7:��in�, <br />0 Is <br />
