I <br />EO::�K � � vj Fr�C� •.��� <br />Director Wright then presented a short video which demonstrated the 9-1-1 <br />instructional assistance in medical emergencies. He also showed a sample of the guide cards <br />which would be used by the 9-1-1 dispatcher should the computer system be down. He <br />advised that 32 hours of training would need to be given to the 9-1-1 dispatchers at the <br />Sheriff's Office and he hoped the system could be implemented by July 1. <br />Commissioners Eggert and Ginn expressed their support based on the personal <br />experiences which they described to the other Commissioners. <br />ON MOTION. by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED BY <br />Commissioner Ginn, the Board unanimously approved Budget <br />Amendment #018; authorized sole source purchase of the APCO <br />Institute Emergency Medical Dispatch Program which includes <br />the guide cards, software program, student manuals, and <br />authorization for Assistant EMS Chief Brian Burkeen, the <br />APCO Certified Instructor on staff, to train dispatchers in-house <br />as well as recertify the dispatchers every two years; approved <br />funding the EMD Program in the amount of $5,614 from the E9- <br />1-1 Surcharge Account and $25,040 from the General Fund <br />Contingency Account; and understood that every effort will be <br />made to train the appropriate staff in order to implement the <br />program by July 1, 1998. <br />. j: Members of the Board <br />of County Commissioners <br />FROM: Joseph A.
