O'Brien, Assistant County Attorneyo- <br />DATE: May 14, 1998 <br />SUBJECT: Amendment to Handicap Parking Regulations <br />The Florida Legislature has recently amended the statutes governing handicap parking. <br />Section 316.1955(5)(c), F.S., prohibits parking in an access aisle. Section316.1955(7), <br />F.S., prohibits parking a vehicle in a disabled parking space unless the vehicle displays a <br />disabled parking permit and the vehicle is actually transporting the person to whom <br />the permit was issued. <br />The proposed ordinance incorporates these changes so as to allow local enforcement. <br />A public hearing date of June 9, 1998 is recommended. <br />NO ACTION REQUIRED OR TAKEN. <br />9.C.2.
