TAX COLLECTOR KARL ZIMMERMANN - MOVE TO <br />LURIA' S PLAZA <br />The Board reviewed the following Relocation Costs: <br />KTOTHEBOARD KARL ZIMMERMANN MAY 2 9 1998 <br />TAX COLLECTOR BOARD OF COON <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY COMMISSION <br />LURIA'S PLAZA RELOCATION COST <br />Building Remodeling - $162,804.00 <br />(Does not include new extension construction) <br />Office Furnishings - $ 72,000.00* <br />(Work stations, desks, chairs, shelving, etc.) <br />Computer Wiring & Relocation - $ 8,650.00 <br />(Pre -wiring and moving of P.C.'s & setup in new location) <br />Mechanical & Electrical Engineering fees $ 6,500.00 <br />(Part of design activity - existing building only) <br />Fiber -Optics Telephone Access - $ 26,700.00 <br />& Equipment to connect to Administration <br />Building Switchboard <br />Moving Expenses - $ 3,800.00* <br />(Pack & move to new facility and unpack) <br />Work station equipment - $ 4,350.00* <br />(Cash drawers, validators, printers) <br />Security and fire alarm system - $ 2,325.00 <br />$ 287,129.00 <br />* <br />Cannot use 1 % sales tax revenue for this cost category per Indian River <br />Bounty Management & Budget. <br />Due to review by Management and Budget, based on cost implications, use of <br />I% sales tax funds is less desirable. Proposal is based on using Tax Collector <br />unused fees, projected to be approximately $1,700,000.00 this fiscal year. <br />05/28/98 <br />Tax Collector Karl Zimmermann requested the Board's permission to move to Luria's <br />Plaza and announced that he had available to answer any questions Philip Steel, the <br />Architect, Mr. Bryant, the selected general contractor, and Robert Nall, Tax Collector's <br />Office Attorney. He noted that the remodeling costs relate to the original building of 5,000 <br />square feet. The new construction will add 2,100 square feet. He is responsible for the <br />remodeling of the old building while the developer is responsible for construction of the new <br />JUNE 291998 <br />-13- <br />m <br />
