1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />[l <br />HE SOLUT ION. <br />Commissioner Mudge offered the following resolution and moved its adpptions <br />WHEREAS, certain citizens who are uninformed as to the true facts of the situation <br />have criticized the work of the County superintendent, Mr. Charles Kersey, and <br />WHEREAS) this Board has recently made an inspection of the Roads and Bridges of <br />the County <br />and finds that considering <br />the <br />small <br />amount of money he has had <br />to work <br />with that <br />our Superintendent has done <br />his <br />work <br />in a splendid and efficient <br />manner: <br />THEREFORE, Be it Resolved that we do commend Mr. Kersey for the efficient and <br />economical mann6m in. Aich he has handled the bridge and road work of the County and <br />that we do express our unqualified approval of him and his work. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that we direct the attention of the public to the fact that <br />the Board has paid the bill heretofore presented by Commissioner Yongue about which <br />the controversy arose because of our desire to extend all possible courtesies to a <br />fellow member of our Board but not because we believed that it was necessary for the <br />work to be done as it was. <br />Upon being -put to a vote the same was duly adopted, Commissioner Yongue voting <br />against the resolution. <br />The County Democratic Executive Committee having met and adopted the assessments <br />to be levied against the candidates for the various offices to be filled this year, - <br />for party organization, assessments were thereupon made for the purpose of defraying <br />all expenses in connection with the Primary elections to be held in June 19349 as fo <br />County Commissioner. ....04.00 <br />Member School Board..... 4.00 <br />Representative.......... 6.00 <br />Justice of Peace........ 4.00 <br />Constable .............. 4.00 <br />and ordered that the respective amounts be paid to the Clerk of this Board as required <br />by law, by each candidate for office. it was further ordered that the Clerk place the <br />total amount collected in the General Revenue Fund immediately after the last day to <br />qualify to become a candidate. <br />RE'S.0LUT ION. <br />The following resolution was introduced by Commissioner R. Z. Mudge, who moved its <br />adoptions <br />WHEREAS the State Board of Administration has submitted certain proposals of <br />persons, firms and corporations to sell certain bonds of the County of Indian River and <br />Special Road & Bridge District bonds. under the provisions of House Bill No. 30 act$ of <br />the 1933 Legislature, and <br />WHEREAS, after carefully considering the said proposals, and taking Into con- <br />sideration the value of said bonds and the amount of funds available for this purpose <br />it is deemed expedient and advisable to purchase certain of said bonds; <br />THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the State Board of Administration be requested <br />to purchase the following bonds: <br />_ Two (2) bonds of Special R & B Dist #i, St Lucie County Florida, now Indian River <br />County, issue of 1918 due 19449 at a price of 42 flat. Designated *A" <br />Two (2y bonds of St. Lucie County Public Highway, issue of 1920 due 1940 and <br />1942 at a price of 45 flat. Designated "DO <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Commissioner Knight, and upon being <br />put to a vote the same was unanimously adopted. <br />The several bills and accounts against the County, having been audited, were ex- <br />amined and found correct, were .approved, and warrants ordered issued in settlement of <br />same. Such bills and accounts being on file in the off ice of the Clerk Circuit Court. <br />0 <br />
