B00K.0 F,iF tc <br />Staff will return to the Board for authorization to negotiate a contract for services when the <br />architects/firms responding to the RFP have been ranked by a Selection Committee appointed by <br />County Administrator Jim Chandler pursuant to the County Purchasing Manual. <br />Staff submits two alternatives as follows: <br />Alternative #1: Approve release of the RFP for architectural services to include designing, <br />permitting, and services during construction for Station #11 only. <br />Alternative #2: Approve release of the RFP for architectural services to include designing, <br />permitting, and services during construction for Station #11 construction and <br />Station #8 renovation. No funds would be expended for Station #8 design, <br />but dual use of the architect would be authorized for the purpose of saving <br />time once the funding has been approved for Station #8 renovation. <br />RECOM ENDATION: <br />Staff requests the Board approve Alternative #2 which authorizes release of an RFP to initiate the . <br />process for obtaining architectural services to design, permit, and assist during construction of <br />Emergency Services Station #11 and Station #8. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Adams, the Board <br />unanimously approved release of the RFP for <br />architectural services to include designing, <br />permitting, and services during construction for <br />Station #11 construction and Station #8 renovation; <br />as recommended by staff. <br />County Administrator Chandler, in response to questions from Commissioner Ginn, <br />advised that the final phase of the 1¢ optional sales tax plan will end in early September, <br />1999.
