• <br />SECTION 1. STATEMENT OF INTENT. Commencing with the Fiscal <br />Year beginning on October 1, 1999, and with the tax statement mailed for such Fiscal Year, <br />the County may intend to use the uniform method of collecting non -ad valorem assessments <br />authorized in section 197.3632, Florida Statutes, as amended, for collecting non -ad valorem <br />assessments over a term of years to fund the cost of storm protection benefits provided by . . <br />the County's proposed beach nourishment program. If such method is used, such non -ad <br />valorem assessments may be levied against certain property located along the Atlantic Ocean <br />in Indian River County (including both incorporated and unincorporated areas), as more <br />specifically described in Appendix A. <br />SECTION 2. STATEMENT OF NECESSITY. The County hereby <br />determines that the levy of the assessments is needed to fund the cost of storm protection <br />benefits provided by the County's proposed beach nourishment program. <br />SECTION 3. DELIVERY OF COPIES. Upon adoption, the Clerk of the <br />Circuit Court is hereby directed to send a copy of this Resolution by United States mail to <br />the Florida Department of Revenue, the Indian River County Tax Collector, and the Indian <br />River County Property Appraiser by January 10, 1999. <br />SECTION 4. EFFECTIVE DATE.
