Chandler, County Administrator <br />FROM: Doug Wright, Direct <br />Emergency Services to _ <br />DATE: February 3, 1999 <br />SUBJECT: Ericsson 800 MHz Year 2000 Upgrade Proposal <br />On December 19, 1995, the Indian River County Board of County Commissioners approved a <br />contract with Ericsson, Inc., to provide a 20 channel 800 MHz Simulcast Communications System <br />capable ofserving all municipalities and agencies within the County. The system became functional <br />in October, 1996, and it currently is serving 1,632 users involving the following organizations: <br />Department of Emergency Services <br />• Emergency Management <br />• Fire <br />• EMS <br />• Animal Control <br />• 9-1-1 <br />FEBRUARY 16, 1999 <br />• <br />-57- BOOK 103 FACE 9 . <br />
