RAUTH (aAx- <br />STAFFED BY: OPERATIONS MANAGER <br />SUBJECT: UTILITY CHLORINATION SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS <br />BACKGROUND and ANALYSIS <br />On December 22, 1998, the Board of County Commissioners considered an agenda item <br />for the above -referenced subject. During that meeting the Board approved stars <br />recommendation to develop a work authorization with the County's water consultant, <br />Camp Dresser and McKee, Inc. for disinfection system analysis (see attached agenda <br />item). The enclosed Work authorization No. 9, with Camp Dresser and McKee, Inc. in the <br />amount of $8800.00, will provide analysis of alternative disinfection systems or additions <br />of potential safety measures for the North and South County Reverse Osmosis Water <br />Treatment Plants. (see attached work authorization). This analysis is required for <br />compliance, with the regulatory requirement that all facilities affected by the Accidental <br />Release Prevention (ARP) program prepare and submit a Risk Management Plan (RMP) <br />no later than June 21, 1999. As presented to the Board, the staff of the Department of <br />Utility Services is now returning to the Board with the appropriate work authorization for <br />water plant RMP analysis. If approved by the Board, the scheduled completion date for <br />work authorization No. 9 is April 1, 1999. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />The staff of the Department of Utility Services recommends that the Board of County <br />Commissioners approve the attached Work Authorization No. 9 with Camp, Dresser and <br />McKee Inc., in the amount of $8,800.00 as presented. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Adams, SECONDED BY <br />Commissioner Ginn, the Board unanimously approved Work <br />Authorization No. 9 with Camp Dresser and McKee, Inc. in the <br />amount of $8,800, as recommended in the Memorandum. <br />MARCH 9, 1999 <br />WORK AUTHORVATION IS ON FILE <br />IN THE OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO TBE BOARD <br />82 <br />
